We had the honor of providing grief recovery resources to walkers who had lost a loved one to heart disease.

Every year, heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases claim the lives of 17.3 million people — a number expected to grow to 23 million+ by 2030 — and, in total, is responsible for 30% of all global deaths.

Dedicated to the mission of heart health, the people of Johnson County, Missouri, alongside the American Heart Association, hold the Johnson County Heart Walk each year to raise awareness concerning how to properly care for your heart and live a heart-healthy lifestyle.

This year’s Heart Walk, hosted at University of Central Missouri, drew people from all walks of life who had been impacted by heart disease. Heart disease survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the surviving loved ones of those who had been taken by heart disease or stroke were in attendance and among the over 100 people walking to raise awareness.

Our foundation was honored to again be a F.A.S.T. Stroke Awareness sponsor of this year’s walk. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the people of Johnson County, Missouri and their fight against this horrible disease. We eagerly look forward to being able to continue our support of their efforts at next year’s Heart Walk.
