Comfort and Joy, Comfort and Joy

Teresa Adair and the Foundation board of directors send comfort and joy to you this holiday season and thank you for your generous support throughout the year.

During this season, traditionally filled with love and hope, we recognize there is sometimes a glimmer of melancholy. Our objective is to show support to those experiencing loss during the holiday season. We want to extend a warm thank you to our donors, whose funds provide the tools that help the Foundation educate and support caregivers during such a tender time.

There are two primary goals of hospice: no one should die in pain, and no one should die alone. This year, we placed over $270,000 into communities to support hospice education, grief recovery, and contributions to patient advocate non-profits.

The Foundation’s educational program offers caregivers, at no charge, an array of avenues to learn and focuses on helping individuals cope with end-of-life processes. For a nominal charge and with the help of our strategic partners, we offer continuing education courses; we feel both professionals and non-professionals can benefit.

Crossroads Kids Camp was developed and offered in Oklahoma City this year. Children and their parents or guardians experienced a camp where play and therapy were used to stimulate talk about loss and grief. We are grateful for the success of the camp and are making plans to duplicate the camp in 2016 throughout communities where we provide support.

It is humbling to watch the caregiver experience and an honor to be a part of Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation. The Board and I send you joy, happiness, and hopefully a small bit of comfort in the upcoming holiday season.
